I am a pre-service teacher educator, and an Associate Professor at Klaipėdos valstybinė kolegija, higher education institution, in Klaipėda, Lithuania. My professional interests are within the study programmes of Pre-school and Primary School Pedagogy and include the courses of Innovative Education in Primary School, Management and Leadership in Preschool Education, Education Management and Children’s Rights as well as supervising students’ final thesis. The research interests include teacher professional growth and mentoring, self-directed learning, and lifelong learning. I also actively participate in Erasmus+ mobility programme through teaching the incoming students, and through staff mobility at the partner institutions in Europe. The recent Erasmus+ staff mobility visit took place on October 26 to 28. The main objective of the mobility was to enhance understanding of the international perspective of teacher education and professional development in terms of the study and research processes. The visit gave me a great opportunity to learn about study organisation and research as well as experiences and good practices of the counterparts at the host university. Visiting the Research Centre on Child Studies included discussing common interests in research and the possibilities for publication of studies. During my visit I also had an opportunity to participate in the conference hosted by the Research Centre on Child studies, at the Institute of Education of the University of Minho. I really appreciated the professionalism, friendliness and warm hospitality of the staff of the centre, who helped me throughout this visit.
